VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) is a collective term of organic compounds that exist in the atmosphere in the gaseous form. They include toluene and xylene in aromatic hydrocarbons, dichloromethane in haloalkanes, trichloroethylene in haloalkenes, among others. VOC is in wide use for painting, printing and bonding, but it is said that they may be attributable to SPM (Suspended Particulate Matters), Ox (photochemical oxidants), etc. which may directly cause air pollution. They are very harmful to our body. If inhaled at high levels, SPM adversely affects our respiratory system, while Ox irritates the eye and nose mucous membranes and harms the respirtory system. It is therefore urgent to tackle these problems
